Lesson #2:

Finding Penny Stocks

Now that you understand what penny stocks are, you need to understand how to find penny stocks to trade.

There are thousands of penny stocks that trade every day on the Over The Counter Bulletin Board and OTC Markets stock quotation systems.  If you go to these stock quotation system websites, you will find the symbols for a myriad of penny stocks.  This does not do you any good.  Simply finding penny stocks on stock quotation systems provides you nothing as far as finding profitable penny stock trading opportunities.  To find penny stocks that have the potential to rise in the near term, you need to look elsewhere.

There are numerous websites that provide penny stock discussion boards in which seasoned penny stock traders discuss penny stock picks, with a focus on hot penny stocks and penny stocks that have the potential to get hot and start moving higher in the near term.  The most active penny stock discussion boards are on a website called investorshub.advfn.com.  Other active penny stock discussion boards can be found on websites such as investorvillage.com and hotstockmarket.com.

The penny stock discussion boards on these sites include many different types of penny stocks, with the focus of each board slightly different.  For example, if you want to find biotechnology penny stocks, there are discussion boards that focus on that sector.  If trading penny stock reverse mergers is your sort of thing, you can find boards dedicated to reverse merger penny stock trades.  The key is to read the boards on a regular basis and develop an understanding regarding which penny stock traders consistently provide good penny stock trading ideas, and which ones are just blowing hot air.  Following successful penny stock traders is an excellent way to find penny stocks that have the potential make you money in the short term.

Another good way to find penny stocks to trade is to sign up for penny stock alerts via email or text.  A Google search will reveal many websites that provide free penny stock alerts to anyone who provides the sites an email address or text number.  Sign up for a few, then see how their picks do to determine which ones provide solid penny stock trading opportunities.

Social media is another way to find penny stocks to trade.  Penny stock traders have set up accounts on Twitter and Facebook to disseminate their current penny stock trading ideas.  Search for “penny stocks” on social media sites and follow the penny stock traders that are actively providing stock tips.  See how their tips work out to determine which ones are worth following for future penny stock trading ideas.
